Getting an aircraft construction project started in a school is no easy task. There are many possible roadblocks including school administration, funding, and perceived legal ramifications. The Sonex Education Initiative team is utilizing the assistance of experienced aviation education professionals to help you through those roadblocks. Sonex Education Initiative Chairman

Sonex Aircraft, LLC has appointed a Sonex Education Initiative Chairman to help get the Initiative off the ground and keep it flying. Peter Denny, a teacher at Washburn High School in Minneapolis, MN, is building a Sonex as part of his school's Aviation and Aerospace SLC (Small Learning Community).

In addition, Mr. Denny has worked tirelessly to advocate and promote aviation education programs around the globe, including in his native Australia.

As Sonex Education Initiative Chairman, Peter Denny's duties include:

  • Advise Sonex Aircraft, LLC about how best to serve the mission of the Sonex Education Initiative and ensure the success of its participants.
  • Offer advice and assistance to Education Initiative participants on all aspects of aviation education, including curriculum and getting programs started.
  • Contribute to, maintain, and solicit submissions of sample curriculum for download from the Sonex Education Initiative web site.

Mr Denny has agreed to make himself personally available for one-on-one support of educators interested in participating in the Sonex Education Initiative:
